AI created history, world’s first super vaccine ready, can save lives not only from Covid but the entire virus family
Future Vaccines: Artificial Intelligence is no longer limited to just chatbots, making photos or analyzing data. The role of AI in the health sector is continuously increasing and now it has claimed to bring a big change in vaccine science also. Let us tell you that scientists from Britain’s University of Cambridge and biotech company DIOSynVax have claimed to have developed the world’s first AI-designed vaccine which can provide protection not against any single virus but against the entire virus family. The biggest thing in this is that this vaccine has been found safe in initial human trials and now preparations are being made to test it on a large scale.
How did AI make this special vaccine?
Information has come to light that under this project, scientists analyzed the genomic data of coronavirus collected from all over the world. It also included information about past viruses, current infections and animal viruses that may infect humans in the future. With the help of AI and machine learning, researchers identified those parts of the virus that change very little over time. Based on these shared biological properties, a special super-antigen was prepared, which can help the immune system in recognizing many types of coronaviruses.
What is Universal Sarbeco Vaccine?
Let us tell you that the vaccine used in human trials has been named Universal Sarbeco Coronavirus Vaccine. It targets similar characteristics to SARS-CoV-2, the SARS virus that spread in 2003, and several other coronaviruses found in bats. According to Professor Jonathan Heaney of the University of Cambridge, “The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that we can make vaccines faster but the thinking is still old.” Their goal is to develop a vaccine that can protect against the entire virus family.
Encouraging results found in human trials
The report revealed that healthy volunteers aged between 18 to 50 years were included in the Phase-1 trial. After this, the vaccine was delivered into the body through special microfluidic jet technology instead of traditional needle. Let us tell you that the vaccine was found safe during testing and it generated immune response against SARS, SARS-CoV-2 and many other coronaviruses. However, scientists say that large-scale trials are still pending to understand its true effectiveness.

Will AI be able to prevent future pandemics?
After knowing this technology, experts say that if this technology is successful then the world will be able to be prepared in advance instead of joining the race to make a vaccine after the outbreak of the epidemic. The same technology can also be used in the future against dangerous viruses like bird flu (H5N1) and Ebola.
