CJP founder Abhijit Deepke’s warning – If Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign, there will be protests in the entire country.

New Delhi, June 6. There was a five-hour long protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Saturday demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan amid the NEET-UG paper leak and irregularities in the on-screen marking (OSM) system of the CBSE exam. Students and youth from different parts of the country participated in this demonstration. The protest, organized under the banner of the spontaneous Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), targeted the government over the failures of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Education Ministry.

Giving a warning from the stage, CJP founder Abhijit Deepke said that if Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign by 5 pm, CJP will continue its protests in different cities across India. During the demonstration, Abhijeet Deepke also said – ‘Where the system rots, cockroaches come out. And today the crowd gathered at Jantar Mantar is a symbol of the growing anger of the people against the system.

Today’s protest was just a trailer – Deepke

Abhijeet wrote on X, ‘I am going home to meet my parents. It has been more than a year since I last met him. He has faced a lot of trouble in the last 15 days and had to leave his home due to threats. I will take them back home. For your information, let me tell you that today’s protest was just a trailer. Thank you for coming in such large numbers.

peaceful movement is the greatest strength

Addressing the protest, Abhijeet Deepke appealed to the supporters to keep the movement peaceful. He said that for the last five days he has been continuously requesting the people that the nature of the protest should not be spoiled under any circumstances. The voice of youth is not limited to the internet alone.

Deepke also responded to criticism that merely being active on social media does not bring about grassroots change. Pointing towards the crowd gathered at the protest, he said that the presence of thousands of people today has proved that the voice of the youth is not limited to the internet alone. He said, “Many people used to ask why ‘cockroaches’ are visible only on social media and not on the ground. Today the crowd at Jantar Mantar is the answer to this question.”

symbolizes the rot of the system ‘Cockroach’

On the questions raised regarding the name of his organization, Abhijeet Deepke said, “People often ask why I call myself ‘Cockroach’. Cockroaches appear where there is disturbance and rot in the system. If today so many cockroaches are coming out, then it is not our fault, but the system’s fault.” He described it as a symbol of public resistance against the shortcomings of the system.

Social activist Sonam Wangchung also participated in the protest.

Ladakh’s social activist Sonam Wangchung also reached Jantar Mantar to join the Cockroach Janata Party demonstration. Addressing the people participating in the protest from the stage, he said, ‘I have brought the message of goodwill and peace. You all have chosen this method of peaceful protest, you deserve congratulations for this. You have chosen this issue of complaint. Have not come here to protest but to request. We hope that the government will do positive work in the future. There is talk of resignation, but it should be about responsibility. We hope that the government will take the right steps. May what we are demanding be fulfilled in the coming days.

During the demonstration, people also raised slogans like ‘Education Minister should be like Sonam Wangchuk’. During this, Wangchung said that the papers are being leaked. Therefore responsibility will have to be fixed. The government should pay attention to this.

The protest ended with demands for accountability.

In this demonstration that lasted for about five hours at Jantar Mantar, students and youth raised demands for improvement in the education system, ensuring transparency and accountability in the examination system. During the peaceful demonstration, the students and youth said that their fight is not against any party, but for accountability and improvement in the education system.
