Amit Shah’s strict action on Tripura border, new plan ready for security

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high level meeting in Salbagan, Tripura regarding the security of India-Bangladesh border. In the meeting, instructions were given to keep a close watch on the purchase and sale of land near the border, big construction and money transactions. Besides, a decision was also taken to conduct a thorough investigation of the land records of the last 5 years.

The entire administration will be responsible

According to media reports, Amit Shah clearly said that border security is not the work of BSF alone. For this the district administration will also have to be fully active. A strong security grid will be created by including DM, SP, Patwari and Sarpanch. It has been named Full-Proof Border Security Grid. Its objective is to maintain monitoring and coordination at every level on the border.

Total territorial defense model will be implemented

In the meeting, it was agreed to implement the Total Territorial Defense Model. Under this, the entire area will be secured instead of relying only on fencing. People living near the border will also be connected to this system. They will be given special training to stop smuggling of weapons and drugs so that local people can also cooperate in security.

Surveillance will be strengthened with technology

The new CCTV model of the Home Ministry will be implemented first in Tripura. The old cameras of BSF will be upgraded and connected to the control room of the district administration. With this, information about any suspicious activity taking place on the border will immediately reach the district administration.

Will keep a close eye on land and finance

Now there will be special monitoring on purchase and sale of land and major construction works around the border. Officials have been instructed to scrutinize the records of the last 5 years to find out who purchased the land, when and why. Apart from this, strict action will also be taken against fake notes and suspicious financial transactions.

Zero tolerance on smuggling

In the meeting, Amit Shah asked to adopt a policy of zero tolerance regarding arms and drug smuggling. He said that there will be no laxity in this matter. All the agencies of the Center and the State will work together so that the border areas remain safe and the people living there feel safe. The government believes that this new plan will not only stop infiltration and smuggling, but will also strengthen the confidence of the people living in the border areas.
