Dehradun: Uttarakhand’s Chardham Yatra 2026 has once again written a new chapter of reverence and faith. In just 55 days of the start of the Yatra, 31 lakh 5 thousand 553 devotees have visited the four Dhams. This time also the maximum crowd was seen in Kedarnath Dham.

where and how many devotees arrived

According to the data, 11 lakh 5 thousand 676 people visited Kedarnath. In Badrinath this number was 9 lakh 8 thousand 619. 5 lakh 28 thousand 406 devotees reached Gangotri Dham and 5 lakh 7 thousand 421 devotees reached Yamunotri. The Yatra started on 19 April 2026 and since then the flow of devotees has continued continuously.

Last year’s record likely to be broken

In 2025, about 51 lakh people had visited Chardham in the entire season. This time more than 31 lakh passengers have arrived in just 55 days. If this pace continues, this year’s figures may break the previous record. The administration believes that the number of devotees will increase further before the monsoon.

Focus on security and crowd management

In view of the increasing number of devotees, the government has tightened security arrangements. All four Dhams are being monitored through CCTV cameras and drones. Additional police forces have been deployed for crowd management. However, due to the ever increasing crowd on Kedarnath and Badrinath routes, traffic jams are sometimes being created.

Local business got support

The arrival of lakhs of devotees has brought great relief to local businessmen. The business of people running hotels, restaurants, dhabas, horse-mules and small and big shops is in full swing. Taxi, maxi, bus and tour operators are also getting good profits. The economy of the mountain is largely dependent on this travel.

Difficulties are not decreasing in front of faith

It is noteworthy that Chardham Yatra lasts for 6 months every year and is called the backbone of the economy of Uttarakhand. Be it devotees or local people, everyone eagerly waits for this journey.

Even if one has to wait for hours or walk several kilometers to get darshan in Kedarnath and Badrinath, there is no lack of faith. Travel has become easier than ever due to better roads and facilities, and that is why records are being broken every year.
