Generally, when we think of celebrities from Bollywood buying cars, we think of them buying luxury cars such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or others. However, there are some celebrities who own a few humble cars. Recently, one of the most popular Indian film and television actors, Manoj Pahwa, whom we know from a number of hit movies and TV shows such as Hum Log, Office Office and Dabangg 2, Jolly LLB etc, was seen taking delivery of his humble Tata Sierra.
The video showing the delivery of the all-new Tata Sierra to Manoj Pahwa has been shared on Instagram by Trident Tata on their page. It starts off with the actor Manoj Pahwa standing in front of the Tata Sierra and thanking the Tata Motors dealership. He states that he heard that currently the Sierra has been seeing waiting periods of 3 to 6 months due to high demand.
He then thanked the dealership staff for considering him and his family and arranging the car very quickly. Following this, the video then shows Pahwa signing the paperwork for the vehicle, after which his son and daughter both pull off the cover from the vehicle. It can be noted that his wife and actress, Seema Pahwa, was also present at the dealership for the delivery of the Sierra.
Soon after this, Manoj and Seema Pahwa are seen cutting the cake arranged by the dealership for the delivery. We can then note the actress and the actor performing Hindu rituals to welcome the brand-new Sierra. From the video, we can note that this particular Sierra is finished in the classy shade of Munnar Mist, which is a pearlescent, color-shifting shade of green.
The actor has opted for the Accomplished+, which is the top-of-the-line variant of this SUV. It comes loaded with features including a triple-screen layout, which consists of a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger display, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
It also gets the new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo in the centre, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate. Other notable highlights include ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats, a centre armrest, rear sunshades, a head-up display, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Level 2 ADAS, and a 360-degree camera.
As for the powertrain, Manoj Pahwa has chosen the 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel engine. This motor is capable of producing 116 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque. For transmission, the actor has opted for the 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. This variant is priced at Rs 21.29 lakh.
The newly launched Tata Sierra is one of the most talked-about mid-size SUVs in the country at the moment. Tata Motors sold a total of 30,713 Tata Sierra SUVs in India from December till April of this year. In these five months, the Sierra has accounted for 12 percent of Tata Motors’ total sales (2,55,442 units). At the time of the commencement of bookings, the company received over 70,000 bookings, which later increased to over 1 lakh.
