‘Hormuz is ours and will always be ours!’ The entire world was shaken by this statement of Iranian Parliament Deputy Speaker Ali Nikzad.
These days, Iran is giving a strong reply to America simultaneously on the military, strategic and ideological front. The ongoing war of words and military confrontation between the two countries has taken the tension in the Gulf region to its peak. Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Nikzad has given a very shocking and big statement in an interview. Nikzad clearly said that the ‘Strait of Hormuz’ is a more important and effective weapon for Iran than any nuclear bomb.
During the interview, he said clearly, “Hormuz is my nuclear bomb. In other words, our real nuclear bomb is the Strait of Hormuz.” Nikzad further targeted America and said that America may have 5,000 nuclear bombs, but if we also had such a bomb, we would never have used it. He gave a strong message to the whole world and stressed that Hormuz will never be the same again.
Preparation to make law in Parliament and criticism of Trump
The Iranian Deputy Speaker also revealed that a new and strict law will soon be passed in the Iranian Parliament regarding the Strait of Hormuz, for which necessary steps are being taken rapidly. Along with this, he also made a scathing attack on US President Donald Trump. Nikzad said that since the war began, Trump’s statements have been consistently contradictory and he has no credibility left on the global stage. On the contrary, Iran has a very strong ideological base regarding this war. It is clear from this tough stance of Iran that it is in no mood to bow down to any threat or pressure from America and compromise.
Bloody game between the two countries on the military front
The surprising thing is that despite talks of ceasefire between the two sides, the tension at the ground level is not showing any signs of decreasing. In recent developments, Iran has given a befitting military response to America’s attacks. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) targeted enemy positions in the area in response to US military attacks on Sirik and Qeshm islands.
As part of this retaliation, Iran fired seven ballistic missiles simultaneously towards Kuwait and Bahrain. After these attacks, loud explosions were heard near Kuwait International Airport, causing panic there. At the same time, air raid sirens warning of possible air attack sounded in Bahrain’s capital Manama.
According to the claims of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Iran had also launched two suicide drones with the intention of harming international maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, which were shot down in the air by the US military. Earlier on June 5, America had claimed to have destroyed four Iranian drones. The US Army says that it intercepted six of Iran’s seven missiles, while the seventh missile failed to reach its target. In response, the US military has also targeted Iran’s coastal surveillance radar sites for bombing.
Why is Hormuz such a big strategic power?
Through these aggressive military steps, Iran is giving a clear message to the world that it will not lose its control over the Strait of Hormuz at any cost. This waterway is extremely sensitive geographically and economically, as about 20 percent of the world’s total oil exports pass through this route alone. This is the reason why Iran considers it as its biggest strategic strength and is calling it more effective than the atom bomb.
The Iranian leadership also says that negotiations with the US have completely stalled, as Iran’s nuclear program and regional disputes are still unresolved. Ali Nikzad’s statement has made it clear that Iran is not only fighting on the front, but also sees itself in a very strong position ideologically and strategically. While on one hand America claims that its military is fully prepared to deal with Iranian aggression, on the other hand Iran is continuously retaliating and warning America that if this war prolongs, then the entire world economy and global energy supply may come to a complete standstill.
