After intense sunshine throughout the day, light rain started in the evening, which brought a lot of relief to the people from the humidity and heat. Rain was also recorded in the Indira Gandhi International Airport area, making the weather pleasant across the city.
Slight drop in temperature, heat persists
According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi on Sunday morning was 27.7 degrees Celsius. The night temperature was slightly above normal. It was 0.1 degrees more than the seasonal average and 1.3 degrees more than the previous day. That is, despite light rain, moisture and heat remained in the air.

Monsoon will arrive by the end of June
Monsoon usually reaches Delhi in the last week of June. This time too it is estimated that the south-west monsoon will hit the capital between June 25 and 30. After this, rain will start simultaneously in Delhi along with Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad of NCR. IMD says that with the arrival of monsoon, the temperature will drop and there will be relief from humidity.
Monsoon speeds up across the country
The south-west monsoon has now reached many parts of the country. It has already become active over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, covering central-western and north-eastern Bay of Bengal.
Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and parts of the Northeast next week. Especially in some districts of Karnataka, there may be 7 to 20 cm rainfall between June 8 and 10.
Pre-monsoon rains have also started affecting the plains of North India. Weather experts believe that the weather patterns in the entire country will completely change in the coming weeks.
