There was a break in the meeting of Trump and Khamenei! Senior Iranian official held America responsible

New Delhi: Discussions are intense regarding a possible meeting between US President Donald Trump and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, but a senior Iranian official has made it clear that at present the possibility of such a meeting is very less.

Iran’s top military advisor Mohsen Rezai said in an interview to an American media organization that the negotiation process is currently at a standstill and Trump is responsible for this. He said that unless America changes its stance, it will be difficult to reduce the tension between the two countries.

Mohsen Rezai warned

Mohsen Rezai said that now the future situation completely depends on America. According to him, if Trump really wants a solution, then he will have to take steps towards ending the deadlock between the two countries. He also warned that Iran is ready to face a long-term conflict and that if necessary, the dispute could be taken beyond the Persian Gulf.

Nuclear program became a big issue

Recently Donald Trump had claimed that Iran has agreed to stop its nuclear program. However, Tehran immediately rejected this claim. Iran says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, while the US considers it a security threat. This issue remains the biggest dispute between the two countries.

Controversy also increased regarding seized properties

Rezai said that if America really wants to reduce tensions, it should return Iran’s seized assets. He says that this money belongs to the Iranian people and America has no right on it. On the other hand, the US is planning to use these assets to help its Gulf allies who have suffered losses in the recent conflict.

Tension also on the Strait of Hormuz

Iran has once again reiterated its claim on the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials say that duty may be imposed on ships passing through this route. America says that this is an international waterway and should remain open to all countries. At present both the countries are adamant on their demands. Although Trump has expressed hope that this tension can end soon, the current situation does not point towards any major solution.
