IND vs AFG: Sangakar-Smith left behind, now will Captain Gill break Bradman’s record?
Indian captain Shubman Gill scored 126 runs in the first innings of the Mullanpur Test against Afghanistan. Shubhman returned unbeaten yesterday (June 6) after scoring 103 runs. Today he added 23 more runs in his innings. He was easily moving towards a double century but was caught behind the wicket on the ball of Mohammad Salim.
Gill returned to the pavilion after scoring the 11th century of his Test career. This was his sixth century as captain. He has come sixth in the list of Indian captains who have scored the most Test centuries. During this century innings, Gill crossed the mark of 1000 runs as a captain in Test cricket. Now he has come close to breaking a big record of Don Bradman.

Shubhman Gill has scored 1076 runs as a captain in Test cricket at an average of 82.8 till his dismissal in the first innings in Mullanpur. Gill’s average is the second highest after Don Bradman (101.5) among captains who have scored a thousand or more runs in Test cricket. Gill has already left Kumar Sangakkara (69.6) and Steve Smith (68.1) far behind in this matter. The way Gill has been batting since becoming the captain of the Indian Test team, he will soon leave even Don Bradman behind.

What is the condition of Mullanpur test?
The Indian team, batting first after winning the toss, has scored 475 runs after losing 6 wickets till lunch break on the second day. At the crease is the pair of Washington Sundar (14) and debutant Manav Suthar (9). The Indian team would like to bat till T-break. It remains to be seen at what score the innings is declared. Earlier, apart from Gill, KL Rahul (100) was also out after playing a century. Whereas Sai Sudarshan and Rishabh Pant scored 81-81 runs. Mohammad Salim has been the most successful bowler from Afghanistan. He has taken 4 wickets.
