Coming from Rajasthan, this left-arm spinner first made useful contributions with the bat and then created history with the ball.

It is not easy for any young player to make a place in the Indian team, but Manav Suthar proved in his very first match that he has the ability to be a part of Indian cricket for a long time. Malik tossed the ball in the air in an attempt to play a big shot, where Mohammad Siraj took a brilliant catch and gave Manav the first wicket of his Test career. As soon as he got the wicket, the Indian players surrounded the young spinner and his special moment became even more memorable.

The journey of human betterment has not been easy at all. He himself told that in the initial days many people had advised him to leave cricket and concentrate on studies. However, he ignored the criticism and remained focused on his game. After being selected in the Rajasthan Under-14 team, his confidence increased and under the guidance of coaches Dheeraj Sir and Vinod Sir, he continuously improved his game. The result of that hard work is that today he is a part of the Indian Test team.

Manav Suthar’s record in domestic cricket has been extremely impressive. So far, he has taken 129 wickets in 29 first class matches and has single-handedly led his team to victory on many occasions. In the Ranji Trophy 2022-23, he made a lot of headlines by taking 39 wickets, while in the 2025-26 season, he caught the attention of the selectors by taking 18 wickets in just 3 matches. His performance of taking 8 wickets for 42 runs against Chhattisgarh is included among the most memorable spells of his career.
