Tension increases again in Middle East: Israel claims Iranian missile attack, high alert in both countries
Tel Aviv/Tehran. Tension seems to be increasing once again in West Asia. Israel has claimed that for the first time since the implementation of the ceasefire, missiles have been fired from Iran towards its border. The development has dealt a blow to ongoing diplomatic efforts to restore peace in the region and raised security concerns across the Middle East.
According to the Israeli army, a missile was fired from the direction of Yemen towards its border, which was detected in time. The army claimed that its air defense system activated immediately and neutralized all potential threats. The Army says that there is no information about any major damage or casualties, but the security agencies are fully alert.
Sirens sound in Israel, airspace temporarily closed
According to local media reports, sirens were suddenly sounded in several parts of central Israel. People in Gush Dan, Jerusalem and surrounding areas were instructed to evacuate and remain alert. In view of the possible danger, Israel also closed its airspace for some time. Security forces have been kept on high alert and the situation is being constantly monitored.
Iran rejects claim of attack on Saudi air base
On the other hand, Iran has completely rejected the news of missile attack on Saudi Arabia’s Al-Kharj air base. According to Iranian state broadcaster IRIB, a military official clarified that Iran did not fire any missiles or bullets in the direction of al-Kharj.
However, after reports of explosion-like sounds in Al-Kharj area, the Saudi Civil Defense Department issued a precautionary alert and appealed to people to stay in their homes. Later the officials withdrew the warning, calling the situation normal.
Explosions were also heard in Tehran
Meanwhile, there was panic in Iran’s capital Tehran in the early hours of Sunday when the sound of two explosions was heard. According to the Iranian news agency, two explosions occurred a few minutes apart in western Tehran. However, local officials said no residential areas were targeted and there were no official reports of damage or casualties. The Tehran Fire Department said all emergency services were put on alert and the situation was being monitored.
IRGC alleges Israel launched missile attack
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has alleged that Israel attacked Iranian territory with air-launched ballistic missiles. According to the IRGC, several targets were targeted, although full details of the damage have not yet been revealed. Analysts believe that this development has come to light at a time when there was already tension in the area due to recent air strikes carried out by Israel in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon. Iran had warned of retaliation after those attacks.
Airspace closed, fear of conflict increased
According to reports, Iran has temporarily closed the airspace around Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran due to security reasons. Experts believe that this step has been taken in view of the possible military threat. On the other hand, America is also keeping an eye on the entire incident. According to media reports, there has been a phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, in which the regional security situation was discussed.
Iranian warning and Israeli response
The Israeli Army claims that all the missiles fired by Iran were successfully intercepted and destroyed. At the same time, Iranian military officials have warned that if Israeli military action continues in Lebanon, more stringent retaliatory measures can be taken. Meanwhile, Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reacted sharply and said that “Tehran will have to pay the price for this.”
Crisis looms on regional peace
The increasing military tension in West Asia has once again raised concerns about regional stability. The situation was expected to return to normal after the ceasefire, but recent developments have indicated that the situation still remains extremely sensitive. The eyes of the international community are now focused on whether both sides take steps towards reducing tension in the coming days or the conflict escalates further.
