Group company Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has received a 10-year marine services contract for Argentina’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export project. After this news, investors kept an eye on the shares of Adani Ports on Monday, although till the time of writing the news, the company’s shares were trading in decline.
Order received through subsidiary company
Adani Harbor International FZCO, a subsidiary of Adani Ports, has received this contract. The company formed a consortium with Argentina’s Meridian Group and through this achieved this project. This contract was awarded to Southern Energy S.A. The award has been given following a global competitive bidding process conducted by (SESA).
The project will be operated through joint venture
The project was executed by Meridian Transportes Marítimo S.A. Will be operated through. It is a joint venture between Adani Harbor International FZCO and Meridian Group. Adani Group has 51% stake in this partnership, while Meridian Group has 49% stake.
Which services will Adani Group provide for 10 years?
Under the contract, this consortium will provide several important marine services to Southern Energy’s Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project. This includes tugboat operations to support the movement of LNG vessels, offshore logistics services, supply support to project operations and crew transfer services to facilitate the movement of personnel.
The project will involve an investment of 70 million dollars
A special marine fleet will be used for these services. It will include four state-of-the-art tugboats, one anchor handling tug supply vessel and one crew boat. All these vessels will meet the various operational needs of the Southern Energy FLNG Project. This entire project is supported by an investment of approximately $70 million, making it an important project in Argentina’s energy sector.

This contract is not only a commercial agreement for Adani Group, but also the beginning of its strong presence in the energy and maritime logistics sector of South America. After joining Argentina’s first LNG export project, both Adani Ports’ international business and global portfolio are expected to be strengthened.
