New flight for AYUSH education in UP: Five new integrated AYUSH colleges will be established

Yogi government has taken an important initiative to strengthen health services and medical education in Uttar Pradesh. New integrated AYUSH hospitals and colleges will be established in five divisions of the state. The aim of this step is to promote Indian medical systems like Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy as well as connect students with modern health sciences. This will expand AYUSH education in the state and better health facilities will be available to the people.

New institutions will be developed in five divisions

The mandals selected by the government include Gonda, Mirzapur, Meerut, Agra and Basti. Land has been identified for the establishment of colleges in these areas. At most places, the land is already in the possession of the AYUSH Department, whereas in Basti Mandal, the process of land transfer has reached the final stage. After the land is available, the processes related to the design and construction of the institutions are now being speeded up.

Opportunities will increase for local youth

Thousands of students of the state will benefit from the establishment of new AYUSH colleges. Now students will not have to go to big cities or other states to get medical education. Having high level education available in one’s own circle will save both time and financial resources. Also, a new generation of trained doctors and experts will be prepared in the field of AYUSH, which will further strengthen health services in the future.

Research and innovation will get a boost

There is a plan to develop these institutions not only as teaching centers but also as hubs of research and innovation. Here scientific research will be conducted on Ayurvedic medicines, yoga therapy, lifestyle based treatment and other traditional medical systems. This will help in proving the effectiveness of Indian medical systems through modern research and will also increase their acceptance at the global level.

The premises will be equipped with modern facilities

State-of-the-art laboratories, training centres, research facilities and multi-specialty hospitals will be developed in the proposed colleges. Students will get practical training along with theoretical knowledge. This coordination of modern technology and traditional medical knowledge will give a new direction to AYUSH education.

Health system of the state will benefit

The opening of these new institutions will not only strengthen medical education but will also improve access to health services in rural and semi-urban areas. The availability of specialist doctors will increase and people will be able to get effective treatment at a lower cost. This initiative can prove to be an important step towards including Uttar Pradesh among the leading states of the country in the field of AYUSH education and traditional medicine.
