Major accident in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Andhra Pradesh, eight workers died and many injured
Visakhapatnam. Eight workers died while many others were injured in a major accident at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in Andhra Pradesh. The accident occurred due to the leakage of large amounts of molten steel at the SMS-2 and STC-3 Heat Facilities. According to the information, the accident occurred after a ladle exploded, due to which molten steel spread out. Many workers came under the influence of this incident.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, reacting to the accident, spoke to the District Collector and Police Commissioner of Visakhapatnam over phone and took information about the incident. He instructed the officials to ensure better treatment arrangements for the injured. The Home Minister has also given instructions to speed up rescue and relief operations. According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Home Minister, Vangalapudi Anitha rushed to the accident site as soon as she got information about the incident. Besides, she is constantly in touch with the officials and giving necessary instructions.
