Akhilesh Yadav said – Invention in disaster! Gas became expensive so ‘cylinder’ was converted into a stove, watch viral video
Lucknow. Amidst the rising inflation and LPG gas crisis in the country, people have made amazing inventions with their ingenuity and creativity (Jugaad). Instead of throwing away empty gas cylinders as scrap, people have converted them into traditional chulhas burning with wood and coal. This is truly a great and unique example of Indian Jugaad. When the kitchen budget deteriorates and LPG cylinders become out of reach of the common man, then people find such wonderful ways to meet their needs.

While posting the same video, Samajwadi Party national Akhilesh Yadav wrote that invention in disaster! He wrote that when gas became expensive, the cylinder used to burn the stove was converted into a stove.
In the era of expensive gas, when people make wood or coal stoves by cutting old empty LPG cylinders (which are considered ‘junk’) or making some changes in them, it is no less than an invention in disaster. Old and empty LPG cylinders have been converted into portable ‘wood-stoves’ by cutting their tops. The metal of empty iron cylinders is very strong, due to which these stoves run for years without getting damaged.

Let us tell you that within the last three months, the government has increased the prices of domestic gas for the third time. Due to this the general public is facing troubles. In Prayagraj, a family has cut a gas cylinder and transformed it into a stove. The women of the house were seen baking rotis on this stove. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has shared the video related to this on social media.

In this video, Sakshi Yadav, who lives in Prayagraj, is seen cooking roti on the stove. He says, ‘Earlier, when the price of gas cylinder used to be Rs 450, there used to be a lot of hue and cry. Now the price has become approximately Rs 1 thousand. It has become a lot of trouble for a middle class family. Be it ration or gas, everything has become expensive. Women have lost their desire to pursue hobbies. Now we just feed the children of the house, that is enough.
Our work cannot be done with one cylinder: Sakshi Yadav
Sakshi Yadav said, ‘We are facing a lot of problems due to the increase in gas prices because we are a big family. Our work cannot be done in one cylinder anyway. Due to more people in the house, two cylinders are used. A lot of our money is being spent in rising inflation. The government is not even able to supply gas. Therefore, we have made a stove by cutting the cylinder. We are drenched in sweat after cooking food on the stove in the scorching heat.
‘Children had to be sent with chips in tiffin’
Another woman from the family said, ‘We have an empty cylinder. We could not get gas so we cut it and made a stove. Once the gas is received, re-booking can be done only after 25 days. Our family is big. The cylinder cannot last long enough to wait for 25 days. Our entire month’s budget has been ruined. Everything has become expensive. There was no gas at my place so it became difficult to give tiffin to the children. The children had to be sent with chips and apples in tiffin. In our place, two cylinders are required in a month but only one is available. Under compulsion, we had to convert the empty cylinder into a stove.
