Stock Market Today: Due to cheap crude oil, the stock market is out, Sensex jumped by more than 900 points, Nifty also crossed 23,400.

Mumbai. Amid the rise in global markets and fall in crude oil prices, Sensex and Nifty witnessed strong gains in early trading on Friday. Global crude oil prices have fallen after US President Donald Trump hinted at an early agreement with Iran. BSE Sensex rose 921.30 points to 74,753.85 in early trade while NSE Nifty rose 254.20 points to 23,417.25.

Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of InterGlobe Aviation, Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj Finance, Eternal, Trent and HDFC Bank were the biggest gainers. Only Tech Mahindra shares recorded a decline. In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi rose more than eight percent while Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose more than three percent. China’s SSE Composite Index and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are also trading with gains.

American markets closed with gains on Thursday. The price of international standard Brent crude fell by 1.62 percent to around $ 88.92 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers on Thursday and sold shares worth Rs 1,987.09 crore. On Thursday, Sensex closed with a fall of 150.63 points and Nifty with a fall of 53.35 points.
