Salman Khan reaches court against ‘Black Deer’ film, notice issued to producer

Bollywood level Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court to ban the release of ‘Blackbuck: The Battle for Legacy’. In his petition he has claimed that this film has been made without his permission. After which now the High Court issued a notice to the producer of ‘Black Deer: The Battle for Legacy’. The court will hold the next hearing in this case on June 19. Salman Khan has said in his petition that ‘Blackbuck: The Battle for Legacy’ is being made without consulting him and allegations are being made that he has connections with the underworld. After which Delhi High Court has agreed to hear it on urgent basis.

Legal notice was sent to the producer before reaching the court

Mamne’s case was heard by Justice Neena Bansal Krishna. Let us tell you that this entire controversy started when Salman Khan’s legal team sent a notice to the makers of ‘Black Deer: The Battle for Legacy’. In the notice, Bhaijaan’s team said that the film is allegedly inspired by the famous blackbuck hunting case of 1998 and may harm the actor’s image. It was also argued that the case is still pending in the Rajasthan High Court, hence any film based on it could influence the judicial process.

The controversy increased further when the poster of the film was revealed. The poster showed a man with a gun, whose look many people felt was similar to Salman Khan. On this basis, discussions started on social media that the film is indirectly being made keeping Salman Khan and the Blackbuck case at the center.

Why is the film special?

Let us tell you that in the month of May, when the first poster of the film was revealed on social media, people were surprised to see it because the actor seen in it looked exactly like Salman Khan. Not only this, the actor had a rifle in his hand and Salman’s famous turquoise colored bracelet was also shining on his wrist. The makers had announced that they are going to release the first teaser of the film on June 20.

What is the black buck hunting issue?

The story of ‘Black Buck Controversy’ has its connection with October 1998, when Salman Khan was in Jodhpur, Rajasthan for the shooting of the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. He was accused of hunting black bucks there. Since the Bishnoi community worships the black buck as a god, they took the matter to the court.

In the Black Deer case, names of many big stars like Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Sonali Bendre were also raised, but they all were acquitted. In 2018, the Jodhpur court found Salman Khan guilty and sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment. However, Salman Khan was immediately granted bail and he appealed against this decision, which is still pending in the Rajasthan High Court.
