New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar met Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil in New Delhi to seek faster approvals and support for several key water resource projects aimed at strengthening the state’s irrigation and water management infrastructure.
Accompanied by Karnataka Minister for Major and Medium Irrigation Ramalinga Reddy, Shivakumar submitted a detailed memorandum outlining pending proposals and priority projects that require intervention from the Centre.

Karnataka Pushes For Water Infrastructure Expansion
During the meeting, the Karnataka delegation highlighted the urgent need to accelerate approvals for projects designed to improve irrigation coverage, enhance water storage capacity, and ensure reliable drinking water supply across the state.
