Uttar Pradesh government is continuously implementing new schemes to promote animal husbandry and milk production. In this direction, the Chief Minister Swadeshi Cow Promotion Scheme of the state government has emerged as a big gift for the farmers, cattle rearers and people associated with dairy business. The objective of this scheme is to conserve, promote indigenous breed of cows and increase milk production.

What is Chief Minister Swadeshi Cow Promotion Scheme?

Under the Chief Minister Swadeshi Cow Promotion Scheme, the government provides financial assistance to farmers to buy high quality indigenous cows. The main objective of the scheme is to promote indigenous breeds of cows like Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar and Gangatiri breeds, so that milk production increases and the income of farmers increases.

The state government believes that indigenous cows not only give better quality milk, but their health is also relatively better. This provides long term benefits to cattle farmers.

How much subsidy will you get?

Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries are given subsidy on the purchase of indigenous cows. The government provides a certain part of the purchase cost of cows as subsidy.

According to the scheme, the beneficiary gets the opportunity to set up a unit of minimum two and maximum number of indigenous cows. The subsidy is transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary, making the process transparent.

Who can avail the benefits?

-Applicant should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
-Must be a person interested in animal husbandry or dairy activities.

How to apply?

To avail the benefits of the scheme, interested animal farmers can contact the Animal Husbandry Department of their district. The application process is completed offline and as per the rules laid down at the departmental level.

After the application is submitted, verification is done by the concerned authorities. If found eligible, the beneficiary is approved under the scheme and given the benefit of subsidy.
