World’s biggest digital fraud perpetrated by Gemini! Google sues Chinese gang that created 9000 fake websites

Google Sues AI Scam Fake Websites: While the growing power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has opened up new possibilities for the world, its misuse has also created serious challenges for cyber security. Recently, tech giant Google has taken major legal action against a large AI-based cyber crime network. Google has filed a lawsuit in a US court against a gang called Outsider Enterprise, which is accused of creating thousands of fake websites and millions of scam messages with the help of Google Gemini AI.

Dangerous phishing tools created with the help of Gemini AI

According to the lawsuit filed by Google, the gang was operating from China and carrying out its activities through encrypted messaging platforms like Telegram. The network developed approximately 131 different phishing kits using Google’s cutting-edge AI technology, Gemini.

The specialty of these tools was that the fake messages and fake websites created with their help looked exactly like the real ones. Criminals duped common people by using the names of trusted organizations like Google, YouTube, New York’s EZPass toll system and the US Postal Service (USPS).

9,000 fake websites and data theft network

The trial documents revealed that the gang had created more than 10 lakh dangerous Internet addresses (URLs). The gang created 9,000 fake websites designed to steal credit card information, personal passwords and other sensitive data.

Google said that in just two weeks in the month of May, this network sent more than 25 lakh scam text messages to Android users. However, taking precautions, Google identified about 55,000 suspicious messages during this period and warned the users in time.

Action in collaboration with FBI and big telecom companies

This is the first time that Google has launched a legal war at this level against cyber crimes caused by misuse of AI. The company is working closely with the US investigative agency FBI and major telecom providers like AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile to get to the bottom of this matter.
