During the conversation on the show, Karisma Kapoor said, “Only a few scenes of the film were shot in Goa. At that time I was feeling that I did not have much space in the film, so I spoke to director David Dhawan and directly asked him where my character was in the film. On this, David Dhawan asked me to be patient and assured me that he is there in the next two songs. Just wait a little.”
He further said, “After this, the film’s song ‘What is Mobile Number’ was shot. This song was shot in one day. This is the magic of cinema. Many times, the work which is completed very quickly, later becomes the most popular among the people. People liked this song very much.”
During the conversation, Karishma made another interesting revelation. He told, “The story of the film was shown in Goa, but the song which people consider to be part of Goa, was actually shot in a resort located in Mud Island, Mumbai. Everything was shown on the screen so realistically that the audience never realized that this place is not Goa.”
She further said, “During the recording and filming of the song, I noticed a shot that was wrong. Someone had come from behind in the background. I nervously went to David and told him that if any audience caught this shot, the film would probably not be a hit. But after the release of the film, something like this did not happen. No one noticed it till date.”
Apart from Karisma Kapoor, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Batra were seen in lead roles in ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi’. Artists like Anupam Kher, Kader Khan, Aruna Irani and Paresh Rawal also played an important role in making the film memorable. This film was released on 25 June 1999.
