The wait for the ambitious Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur 6 lane greenfield Ganga bridge connecting the capital Patna to North Bihar is now about to end. This bridge, which is included in the biggest and important infrastructure projects of Bihar, is almost completely completed. The government has set a big target of completing this magnificent bridge by the first week of July. On Saturday, Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit himself visited the construction site and took stock of the ground reality. He has given strict instructions to the officials to expedite the remaining work of the final phase.

Chief Secretary did ground inspection

During the visit, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit reviewed in depth the approach road, security arrangements and other important facilities along with the main bridge. He talked to the engineers and officials present on the spot. The Chief Secretary said that this project is very important for the development of entire Bihar. After its commencement, a huge and positive change will be seen in the entire transport system of the state. To increase the pace of work, he directed the officials to monitor the construction work daily so that it can be dedicated to the public on time.

According to the information received from the Road Construction Department, about 98.2 percent work of this big project has been successfully completed. At present the finishing work on the bridge is going on at a very fast pace. Along with this, the stressing of expansion joints and other necessary technical processes are also being finalized. The agencies involved in the construction are working continuously day and night so that the bridge can be opened to the general public as soon as possible without any delay. The structure of the bridge looks very grand and safety standards are being taken full care of.

After the opening of this bridge, the biggest benefit will be to lakhs of people traveling towards Patna, Hajipur, Vaishali and Samastipur.
