Big action by JDA, 100 bighas of government land worth Rs 300 crore free from encroachment

Jaipur. Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), taking major action as part of its campaign against illegal encroachments and illegal colonies, has freed about 100 bighas of valuable government land located in village Sumel from encroachment. According to JDA, the estimated market value of this land is around Rs 300 crore.

On the instructions of JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan, the enforcement branch took action in Dhani of village Sumel, Baidana under Zone-10 jurisdiction. Deputy Inspector General of Police Anand Sharma said that an attempt was being made to establish an illegal colony by encroaching on the government land of Khasra No. 208/1.

He said that the land was encroached upon by constructing 13 pucca houses, structures under construction, boundary walls of plots, tin shed-like cells, fencing, earthen mounds, thorn fences, bushes and other illegal constructions. After information and investigation, JDA’s enforcement squad carried out a comprehensive action on Sunday.

Chief Controller Enforcement, Deputy Controller Enforcement of various zones, enforcement officers and revenue and technical staff of Zone-10 were present during the action. The operation was conducted with the help of additional police force received from Police Commissionerate Jaipur and local Jamdoli police station.

JDA’s enforcement squad, with the help of JCB machines and laborers, removed all illegal constructions and encroachments and freed about 100 bighas of government land from encroachments. The authority has clarified that the campaign against illegal colonies and encroachment on government land will continue.
