New Delhi: The relief received due to western disturbance in Delhi-NCR now seems to be ending. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of strong dust storm and light rain in the afternoon or evening on Monday. During this period, winds can blow at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for today. People have been advised to remain alert.

Today’s temperature and weather forecast

Today the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be around 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. You will feel hot with strong sunlight in the afternoon, but the weather may change suddenly in the evening. There are chances of dust blowing with strong winds and light drizzle.

In the last few days, the people of Delhi had got some relief from the effects of western disturbance, but now the scorching heat is about to start again. The maximum temperature may cross 40 degrees Celsius in the next two days. The temperature is expected to reach 44 degrees Celsius by the end of the week.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung weather station was 38.5 degrees Celsius, which was about 3 degrees more than the previous day. There is a possibility of strong sunlight since morning and the heat will increase after 10 o’clock. The wind direction will be mainly western and north-western, due to which hot winds will blow.

Air quality remained satisfactory

Despite the change in weather, Delhi’s air remains clean at present. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) on Sunday was 151, which falls in the ‘moderate’ category.

According to the warning of the Meteorological Department, dust may fly due to strong winds this evening. In such a situation, people suffering from eye and respiratory diseases should take special care. Use a mask while going out and avoid the strong afternoon sun.

The heat is going to increase rapidly in the next few days, so drink more water and wear light clothes. The weather department is continuously monitoring the situation and will issue alerts if necessary. Delhiites may get some respite from the storm and rain today, but after this the scorching heat is making a comeback.
