Don’t make this mistake while reheating pasta kept in the fridge, follow this easy method and get fresh taste…
Lifestyle Desk – Pasta is one of the most popular dishes liked all over the world. This delicious dish, which originated from Italy, is today very popular in Indian homes and cafes too. Many varieties like white sauce pasta, red sauce pasta and pink sauce pasta have become people’s favourites. Often people make pasta at home and when prepared in large quantities, they store it in the refrigerator. However, when the same pasta is heated the next day, its taste is no longer the same. The biggest reason for this is the pasta sauce drying up and the texture changing. If you also lose the taste of leftover pasta while reheating it, then by adopting some easy tips you can make it fresh and tasty again.
Why does the taste of pasta change?
When pasta is kept in the refrigerator, the sauce and moisture present in it is gradually absorbed by the pasta. Due to this the pasta becomes dry and sticky. Heating it directly on high flame can further spoil its texture. This is why reheated pasta often appears bland and tasteless.
The right way to heat pasta
add some water or milk
If your pasta is red sauce or tomato based, then add 2-3 spoons of water to it before heating it. At the same time, if the pasta is with white sauce then it would be better to add some milk to it. This makes the sauce creamy again and the pasta does not seem dry.
Use a pan instead of a microwave
Non-stick pan is the best option to make pasta delicious again. Add pasta to the pan and heat on low flame. Keep stirring occasionally so that the sauce mixes well and the pasta heats up evenly.
cover and heat
While heating the pasta, cover the pan with a lid for a few minutes. This creates steam and maintains moisture in the pasta. This method helps in making the sauce soft again.
Add some fresh cheese or herbs
If you want to improve the taste of pasta, then after heating it, you can add some cheese, oregano, chili flakes or fresh basil leaves to it. This makes the flavor of pasta feel fresh again.
How long can you store pasta?
Cooked pasta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. However, heating it repeatedly should be avoided. Take out as much pasta as you want to eat and heat it.
