‘The country has become a Hindu nation, only the announcement is left!’ This statement of Ashok Gehlot created an earthquake in the country’s politics.

Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot openly talked to journalists in Jaipur and during this he fired fierce political arrows at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Giving a very shocking and big statement, Gehlot said that it is only because of the soft attitude of Congress that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been able to reach this strong position in the country today.

Along with this, he made a big claim and said that the country has actually become a “Hindu Rashtra under the rule of BJP-RSS”, and now only its formal announcement is left. After his statement, a new controversy has arisen in the politics of the state and the country.

BJP and RSS were able to flourish in the country only because of the soft behavior of Congress.

Ashok Gehlot expressed his views in a very serious tone during the press conference. He said that BJP always makes false allegations against Congress of acting out of revenge. He challenged and said that if Congress had really worked with the same spirit of revenge while in power at the Center or in the states, then neither RSS nor BJP would have been able to become such a big party in the country today.

Gehlot further said, “I am saying this very thoughtfully that if the RSS has reached this level of success today, then it has been possible only because of the soft attitude of the Congress. These people have taken a long time of 100 years to carry forward their agenda. If the Congress had already dealt harshly with the BJP-RSS in the manner that their actions are visible in the country, today neither the BJP would have flourished in the country nor Nor would the RSS have expanded so much.”

The country has actually become a Hindu nation, only the formal announcement is yet to be made.

Referring to the old history of the Sangh, the veteran Congress leader said that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was strictly banned twice in history. But later that ban was lifted only after the organization apologized in writing. Directly pointing towards the incidents of violence and tension taking place on the occasion of different religious festivals in different parts of the country, Gehlot claimed that in today’s era, the voice of minorities is being completely suppressed. Taking this point further, he clearly said, “The country has actually become a Hindu nation internally; now a formal announcement is yet to be made by the government.”

Minorities are being suppressed, elected governments and parties are being broken.

Ashok Gehlot strongly attacked the policies of the Central Government and alleged that continuous efforts are being made to suppress the minorities within the country, whether they are Muslim minorities, or people of Sikh and Christian communities. He said that he had never seen such a situation within the country in his entire political career. He feared that if this continues, the courage of these forces against the minorities will increase day by day and they can do anything under the influence of power.

Expressing concern over the current structure of democracy, he said, “What I have been saying repeatedly in public forums is that if Indira Gandhi were the Prime Minister of the country today, she would have immediately banned these activities. The complete answer to your question is hidden in this one thing of mine. The political and social situation that has developed in the country today needs to be understood very deeply. The kind of unethical activities that are taking place openly in the country, and the way in which people have elected people. Opposition governments and strong parties are being broken on the basis of money and power, which is proving extremely fatal for our vibrant democracy.”

If there was a leader like Indira Gandhi today, she would have banned BJP.

Even before this, in another public program organized in Jaipur, Gehlot had adopted a similar strong stand and said that if there was a strong and courageous leader like Indira Gandhi in the country today, she would have immediately banned a communal party like BJP. He said that no party can do politics on the basis of Hindutva and religion in India, because our sacred Constitution does not allow anyone to spread hatred or do politics in the name of religion.

On the other hand, BJP has also immediately retaliated on these sharp attacks of Gehlot. BJP spokespersons took a direct hit at the Congress, alleging that the leaders of the opposition party are still completely suffering from the “old and dictatorial mentality of Emergency”, and they are not able to digest the democratic government elected by the people.
