What is Indian Ocean Dipole? Collision with El Nino; Know what will be the impact on India?

- Collision with El Nino;
- Knowing what will be the effect on India?
Indian Ocean Dipole: The US-Israel and Iran war has now stopped. This has averted the fuel crisis in India for a short time. But on the other hand due to El Nino crisis, there is a big crisis on Indian agriculture. It has been 15 days since the month of June started, but monsoon rains have not started in Adyar state. The sun is burning and the heat has increased. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of less than average rainfall this year due to the activation of El Nino. This situation is considered alarming for an agricultural country like India.
El Nino raises concerns again! Pacific Ocean temperature rise; Indian monsoon will be affected?
More chance of rain due to IOD?
But on one hand some experts are saying that this year the rain will be good. According to the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) model, the impact of El Nino is likely to decrease in India. In the past too, the Indian Ocean Dipole has helped to moderate the impact of El Niño. Let us know what exactly this model is and how it will affect India.

What is IOD?
The Indian Ocean diapause is a warming of sea surface temperatures in the western and eastern parts of the Indian Ocean. After the IOD occurs, ocean waters near Africa become warmer and waters off Indonesia remain cooler. This causes more moisture to reach India by changing the direction of winds. Due to which there is more rain in India. The Japan Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of an IOD becoming active. This can give relief to India.
Earlier in 1997, a severe El Niño event occurred in the world. But at this time the IOD turned positive and India’s rainfall deficit was reduced. If the IOD is positive this time too, the impact of El Nino may be reduced to some extent. But, the possibility of this is very less. Because IOD is positive depending on its intensity and timely development of rainfall. This has led the entire world to focus on when and how the IOD changes.
