The White House said on the meeting of the two leaders that this meeting will take place at a time when both the leaders will be attending a working lunch with G7 leaders, outreach partners and key officials of the technology sector.

Earlier, PM Modi attended the G7 summit held in Evian city of France. The PM arrived from Slovakia on Tuesday. The two leaders also met in a group photo session and meeting at the G7 Summit. Prime Minister Modi met Trump in the meeting. As soon as PM Modi reached Trump, the American President stood up from his seat after seeing him. After this both the leaders shook hands and talked. There was talk between the two for about 5 minutes. This was PM Modi’s first meeting with Trump after Washington in February last year.

There will be a bilateral meeting between Modi and Trump today i.e. on June 17. On the meeting of the two leaders, the White House said that this meeting will take place at a time when both the leaders will be attending a working lunch with G7 leaders, outreach partners and key officials from the technology sector.

The crisis in West Asia will be a major issue on the agenda of the meeting between PM Modi and President Trump. However, India-America trade deal will also be discussed. Trade agreement will be an important topic of discussion between the two leaders. Most of the technical and procedural work related to the agreement has already been completed. At the same time, energy security will also be an important issue of the meeting. India’s energy imports from America have registered an increase of about 60 percent in the last one year. The existing exemption for oil import from Russia is ending on Wednesday.

G7 In the meeting, PM Modi strongly raised the issue of tension in West Asia and insecurity of sea routes. Addressing the G-7 leaders, he expressed concern over the tragic death of Indian sailors in the recent US military strike. Prime Minister Modi expressed concern to Trump over the recent deaths of Indian sailors. The special thing is that when Modi was addressing the leaders, US President Donald Trump was also present there. During this time, the American President kept listening silently to PM Modi.
