Obesity is not just a problem of increasing weight, it is the root of heart and kidney diseases; New guidelines alert the health world

New Delhi . Obesity has long been considered a problem related only to increasing weight and body shape, but now health experts have identified it as the root cause of many serious diseases. It has been clarified in the new health guidelines that obesity is not only a risk factor but can also become the root cause of heart disease, kidney diseases and metabolic disorders. Experts believe that increasing weight affects different parts of the body simultaneously and gives rise to many complex health problems over time.

According to the new guidelines, excess fat accumulated in the body, especially the fat accumulated around the stomach, is more dangerous than normal weight gain. This fat can create a persistent state of inflammation within the body and affect many important biological processes. Due to this, the effect of insulin starts decreasing, blood vessels get damaged and the body’s natural balancing system is negatively affected.

Experts say that the fat accumulated around the organs inside the abdomen, called visceral fat, can become the biggest threat to health. This fat releases chemicals that promote persistent inflammation in the body. This condition gradually causes insulin resistance, which increases the risk of diabetes. Along with this, pressure on the heart increases and kidney function can also be affected.

Health experts have warned that the impact of obesity cannot be understood from weighing machine data alone. Many times, the health conditions of two people with the same weight may be completely different. The reason for this is the difference in distribution of fat in the body. If fat is deposited primarily around the abdomen and internal organs, the risk of disease increases significantly, even if the person appears generally healthy.

This warning is considered even more important in the context of India. There is a continuous increase in the cases of obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure in the country. Changing lifestyle, lack of physical activity, irregular eating habits and increasing stress have made this problem more serious. Experts believe that if obesity is not controlled in time, the burden of heart and kidney diseases may increase further in the coming years.

The guideline also places special emphasis on the concept of cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome. Under this, heart, kidney and metabolic health are considered to be linked to each other. According to experts, obesity often starts this cycle, after which one disease gives rise to another disease. Therefore, treatment of only one disease cannot be considered sufficient, rather a strategy of prevention and treatment has to be adopted keeping in mind the entire health system.

  • Experts say that the risk of obesity can be reduced to a great extent by adopting a balanced diet, regular exercise, adequate sleep and active lifestyle. It is also necessary to get health checked from time to time and pay attention to the increasing girth of the stomach. The main message of the new guideline is that obesity should be seen as a serious health challenge instead of being taken lightly, because this problem can become the cause of many fatal diseases in the future.
