‘Who is the person in the PMO who can write this?’ Rakesh Bedi gave a funny answer to the questions raised on the script of Dhurandhar
New Delhi. After the tremendous success of the film ‘Dhurandhar’ and its sequel, actor Rakesh Bedi is once again in the news. The character of Jameel Jamali played by him in the film was greatly liked by the audience and many of his dialogues went viral on social media. In a recent interview, Rakesh Bedi spoke openly about the making of the film, his first meeting with director Aditya Dhar and the discussions surrounding the script.
Rakesh Bedi told that when Aditya Dhar narrated him a brief description of the story of the film, he knew that it was going to be a different and powerful film. Later, when he received the complete script and read it several times, he realized that the story was very serious and intense. As an actor, he felt that there were some moments in the film where light humor could be added.
He told that he had suggested to Aditya Dhar that small elements of humor should be included in some scenes so that the impact of the story could be further increased. Initially the director was not completely convinced about the idea, but as the shooting progressed he started liking the experiment. According to Rakesh, gradually many scenes were created in which the touch of humor naturally got added to the story.
After the success of the film, various types of discussions started on social media and film corridors. Some people even started saying that the script of ‘Dhurandhar’ was written by the Prime Minister’s Office i.e. PMO. Responding to this claim, Rakesh Bedi jokingly said that who is sitting in the PMO who can write such stories and dialogues. He clarified that the credit for the success of the film goes entirely to the writer, director and creative team.
Rakesh Bedi also mentioned his most famous dialogue of the film in the interview. She explained that the “Your buttocks are too white” line was developed from her suggestions. This dialogue became so popular after the release of the film that its memes and videos went viral on social media. The actor said that sometimes even small dialogues make a big place in the hearts of the audience.
Both the parts of ‘Dhurandhar’ have been a resounding success at the box office. The film stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera and other actors played important roles.
