6500 liters of adulterated ghee caught in Delhi, how did FSSAI trap it?
A gang selling fake ghee has been busted in Delhi and Haryana. This interstate gang used to sell fake ghee through online and print advertisements. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), in collaboration with the local police and Central Food Safety Officers, has recovered more than 6500 liters of adulterated ghee and raw material.
FSSAI received information about print and online advertisements of premium cow ghee and regular ghee. Investigation revealed that FSSAI lines and labeling information were missing in the advertisement. This is where FSSAI became apprehensive. Several operations were carried out in Haryana and Delhi under the supervision of Northern Regional Office Director Devesh Kumar Mahala.
