G7 Summit: PM Modi’s mantra of ‘Safe-by-Design’ for AI security, India’s ‘human’ vision kept in G-7

Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has mentioned India’s ‘human’ vision about artificial intelligence in front of the G-7 countries and said that the development of artificial intelligence should be based on the basic principles of inclusivity, security and public interest. Visited France to participate in the 52nd summit of G-7 countries.

Prime Minister Modi addressed an outreach session on the topic “Ensuring a Safe, Rapid and Efficient Roll out of Artificial Intelligence” in Evian, France on Wednesday night. Modi said AI is a transformative force that has the potential to redefine the direction of human civilization, but it must also empower people.

India hosts AI Impact Summit

He explained in detail that with this broad thinking, India had recently hosted the AI ​​Impact Summit. The Prime Minister outlined India’s ‘humane’ vision for AI, which emphasizes that the development of artificial intelligence should be based on the core principles of inclusivity, safety and public interest. The Prime Minister said India has always viewed cyberspace as a global public asset and democratic countries should have access to AI models that can secure their critical information infrastructure and help them deal with cyber threats.

He called for an integrated approach to AI development, with a simultaneous focus on security, speed and efficiency. In this regard, he made four suggestions: AI systems should be ‘safe-by-design’. There should be common standards, testing frameworks and regulatory guidelines to accompany the use of AI.

There must be effective global collaboration to tackle deepfakes, misinformation and cyber fraud and the benefits of AI must reach countries in the ‘Global South’ to ensure an inclusive world. The Prime Minister concluded the address by saying that the purpose of artificial intelligence should be to expand human potential, empower human choices and protect human dignity. He made it clear that India will continue to work closely with its partners to promote these objectives.
