New record in women’s domestic cricket, Akshara Gupta’s historic innings of 306 runs.
Bhagalpur. Young female batsman Akshara Gupta from Bihar has set a new record in women’s domestic cricket. She scored an unbeaten 306 in the BCA Women’s Under-19 One-Day Trophy tournament that started on Thursday at the Sandys Compound Ground in Bhagalpur.
Akshara hit 55 fours and 8 sixes during her historic innings. He scored these runs in just 126 balls at an impressive strike rate of 242.86 and spent about 233 minutes on the field.
One of the most special things about his innings was his stormy start. Akshara displayed brilliant batting and completed a half-century in 16 balls and then a century in 34 balls.
Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) President Harsh Vardhan congratulated Akshara on her achievement. He said in a statement that the women cricketers of Bihar are continuously bringing glory to the state with their performance.
He said that BCA is continuously working to provide better opportunities and platform to the players and such innings act as inspiration for the young cricketers.
Bihar Cricket Association Secretary Ziaul Arfin also congratulated and said that the emergence of such talent at the very beginning of the BCA Women’s Under-19 One-Day Trophy is a very positive sign for cricket in Bihar. He wished Akshara a bright future.
This innings of Akshara Gupta has now become one of the most memorable innings of women’s domestic cricket and has set a new record in BCA women’s cricket.
Earlier, Mumbai’s Ira Gupta had scored an unbeaten 346 runs in a domestic state-level match, the highest individual score in women’s domestic cricket. His innings included 42 fours and 16 sixes. Akshara Gupta’s unbeaten 306 and Ira Gupta’s unbeaten 346 runs are now among the highest individual scores in women’s domestic cricket.
