Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the Department of Science and Technology.

Bhopal . Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that on the lines of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh (Gift City will also be built in the capital region Bhopal. Medi City, Science City and Engineering College are being built in Ujjain. A Center of Excellence (CoE) for Medical, Science and Technical Education will also be established in Ujjain itself.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was conducting a detailed review of the work and other activities of the Science and Technology Department at his residence office Samatva Bhawan late Thursday evening. He said that concrete efforts should be made to make Bhopal a gift city. Coordination should also be done with the Central Government for the establishment of CoE in Ujjain.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that science and technology will play an important role in the economy in the future. There is immense potential for investment in the field of science and technology in Madhya Pradesh. We have to make the state a strong center of knowledge and technology by promoting innovation, research and technological development.

He directed the officials to make coordinated and effective efforts to attract maximum investment in the science and technology sector. Investment projects should be implemented as soon as possible.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav laid special emphasis on investment promotion to make the state a leader in the field of science and innovation. He reviewed the special action plan prepared by the department to attract lead investment in the science and technology sector and gave instructions to implement it in a time bound manner.

He said that investment in science and technology sector will not only accelerate industrial development but will also strengthen employment generation, research, start-up culture and technological self-reliance. He instructed the departmental officers to give priority to innovation based projects and maintain constant communication with investors.

Various schemes of the department, progress reports and upcoming work plans were also discussed in detail in the meeting. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to ensure better coordination among all the concerned departments to realize new possibilities in the field of science and technology in the state. He said that the officers should fill the required human resource posts in the Science and Technology Department. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave instructions to further strengthen Rajiv Gandhi Technological University in view of the increasing needs.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Dubey gave a presentation and said that the proposal for setting up DeepTech Research Park in Ujjain has been sent to the Central Government. Now, under this proposal, a new action plan will be prepared and a revised proposal will be sent for the establishment of a Center of Excellence in Ujjain. This center will be built at a cost of about Rs 400 crore. DeepTech Research Park will also now be a part of this Center of Excellence.

He informed that the Department of Science and Technology is preparing to build a Gift City in Bhopal. It will be developed as EKAI CITY – Education, Knowledge and AI City. For this, funding of about Rs 10 thousand crore will be provided by the Central Government. The state government will also add funds to it. He told that four universities of America want to open their study campus in Madhya Pradesh. Coordination is being done with them also.

MP emerging tech sector
Principal Secretary M. Selvandrum said that Madhya Pradesh is becoming an emerging tech hub of the country. There are five IT SEZs, more than 15 IT parks, more than 50 big IT companies and more than 1200 tech start-ups working here. There are more than 300 colleges providing technical education in the state, more than 50 thousand technical graduates/year (UG, PG, Diploma), there are also institutes of national importance like IIT, IIITDM, IIM, AIIMS.

Investment worth Rs 12,500 crore came, 50 thousand new jobs created.
He told that there are 6 policies in the technical sector in the state. MP Start-up Policy: 2022 is also applicable. Incentives like capital expenditure, interest subsidy are also being given to investors by the government. There has been investment of about Rs 12 thousand 500 crore in the tech sector in Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, about 50 thousand new jobs have been created. The department is placing special focus on IT ITES and emerging technology sectors like Quantum and AI, Data Centre, ESDM- Data Center Components Manufacturing, Semi Conductor- Packaging, Design, Drone Manufacturing, GCC, AVGC- XR and Space Tech. Proposals for mega projects worth about Rs 5 thousand 892 crore are in the pipeline under this entire sector in the state.

Principal Secretary Raghavendra Kumar Singh told in the meeting that 10 lakh square feet of land is available with the Industries Department. Land is being made available to investors in the shortest possible time. He said that under the Start-up Mission under the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, we are also providing necessary help to investors investing in the science and technology sector.

Pro. Santosh Kumar Vishwakarma, in his special presentation, threw light in detail on the radical development of science and technology sector in Madhya Pradesh and the possibilities of investment in this sector. He also gave his suggestions to the government to make this sector effective.
