Green Moong Dal Sabzi: You eat green moong dal but have you tasted the green moong dal vegetable? When this lentil, rich in protein and fiber, is prepared like a vegetable, it tastes amazing. The good thing is that it is also very easy to make. So let us know how to make green moong dal vegetable?

Ingredients for Moong Dal Sabzi:
Ingredients for dal: One cup whole green moong, 2 tomatoes, turmeric powder, water

Ingredients for tempering: A bundle of garlic, one green chilli, salt as per taste, oil 2 teaspoons, mustard half teaspoon, cumin half teaspoon, a pinch of asafoetida, two dried red chillies, eight to ten curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder half a teaspoon, coriander powder one teaspoon, cumin powder half a teaspoon, hot water as required, lemon juice half a teaspoon, green coriander a handful.

How to make moong dal curry?
Add tomatoes, turmeric and water along with whole moong in the pressure cooker, close the lid and cook on medium flame till 4-5 whistles. After cooking, let the pressure of the cooker release. When the pressure is released, open the lid and take a look. Moong should be completely cooked and tomatoes should become very soft. Now peel the tomatoes and then mash them well.

Now, add garlic, coarsely chopped green chillies and a pinch of salt and crush it coarsely and keep aside. Now, add oil in the pan and then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, dry red chilli and curry leaves and let it crackle. Now add finely chopped garlic and fry until light golden, then add coarsely ground paste and stir for a few seconds until the raw smell goes away.

Now add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder and cumin powder. Stir lightly, then add cooked moong and mix well so that everything gets mixed with the tadka. Add hot water to adjust consistency. Now let it boil a little on low flame.

Taste and adjust the salt once. Add sour tasting lemon juice, mix well and taste again. Finally add fresh coriander and mix well. Garlic flavored, wonderful moong vegetable is ready. Serve it hot with rice.
