North Korea’s strict message on G-7’s demand, no compromise on nuclear program!
According to the report of Yonhap news agency, in a statement issued by North Korea’s government news agency ‘KCNS’, Kim Yo-jong targeted America and its allied countries. He said demanding North Korea give up its nuclear weapons is ‘old thinking’. His remarks came in response to a joint statement issued by the leaders of the G7 countries.
At the summit held on Wednesday, G7 leaders reiterated their commitment to the ‘complete denuclearization’ of North Korea in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
Kim Yo-jong completely rejected this demand of G7 and said that the issue of nuclear disarmament is now over forever and it can never be implemented.
“Nuclear weapons are a powerful means of protecting our sovereignty and a cornerstone of ensuring peace. This is also enshrined in the law of the DPRK,” he said.
He claimed that North Korea’s nuclear weapons program is only for self-defense.
Kim Yo-jong warned that anyone who tries to harm the core interests of a nuclear-armed country will invite great trouble for himself.
The leaders of the US, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and Italy met in Evian, France from Monday to Wednesday. They then issued a joint statement on geopolitical issues related to the Indo-Pacific region, the Middle East and Ukraine.
“We are deeply concerned about North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. We reiterate our commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions,” the statement said.
G7 leaders demanded that North Korea immediately resolve the issue of abducted people. Many people are believed to have been abducted by North Korea in the 1970s and 1980s.
Furthermore, they also stressed the need to work together to combat cryptocurrency theft and cyber crimes allegedly being perpetrated by North Korea.
