‘Remove Gambhir and Dhoni…’; Internal dispute in Indian cricket? ‘This’ player made a big demand

  • Remove Gambhir and bring in Dhoni
  • Internal dispute in Indian cricket?
  • The player made a big demand

Former fast bowler of Indian cricket team S Sreesanth has attacked the head coach of Team India Gautam Gambhir. Sreesanth strongly questioned Gambhir’s training policies. According to him, the national team does not need a traditional head coach now, but a good mentor like MS Dhoni to manage this big team. As Gautam Gambhir is currently the coach of Team India, this statement has become controversial.

Delete Gautam Gambhir…

During an interview with ‘The Lallantop’, when asked why the Indian team has struggled so much in Test cricket over the years, S. Sreesanth directly blamed Gambhir’s tenure. He has criticized Gautam Gambhir’s performance in Tests as a coach. He said that losing a series abroad is not a big problem, but when a strong team like India loses a Test series at home, first to New Zealand and then to South Africa, it is natural that questions arise. Due to this reason, it seems likely that the Indian team will be out of the final match of the 2027 World Test Championship.

S Sreesanth said, “Change the coach. Indian team needs a mentor, not a coach. I object to Gautam Gambhir’s coaching style and tactics. There is too much pressure on the players. You need a mentor at this level. Dhoni never pressures the players and drops them from the team if things don’t go their way.”

India doesn’t need a head coach right now

Expressing his anger at Gambhir, Sreesanth bluntly said, ‘Dude, change the coach first. India doesn’t need a head coach right now, but a mentor.’ Elaborating on the relationship between players and coaches, he added, ‘You have to treat the players first and foremost as brothers, on the field and in the dressing room.’

It is not right to celebrate with players when they win and get angry when they lose. You have played great cricket for the country but that does not mean that the players who are playing now are not working hard or trying. So, have a mentor with the team instead of a coach.
