Sonaji Gadwe /Pune: On the occasion of the diamond jubilee year of Balbharti, the textbooks of class 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th have been newly prepared and the text book ‘Physical Education and Fitness’ in class 4th (Education) Emphasis is placed on holistic physical, mental and social development of students. the gamestudents are introduced to a healthy lifestyle including exercise, yoga, sun salutations, self-care, wellness and playground habits.
The book covers basic movements, various exercises, drill movements, races, mini games, supplementary games, yoga practice and Surya Namaskar. A.B.C. Activities such as drills, orientation practice and athletics preparation will help students develop physical ability, coordination, strength and flexibility. Activities like phugdi, zimma, aerobics and dancercise have made exercise more enjoyable.
Students are guided to recognize good and bad touch, say ‘no’ confidently, remove themselves from dangerous situations and inform a trusted person. Basic aspects of self-defense have been covered, especially for the safety of girls. Due to this students will be alert.
