Prayagraj Divisional Commissioner reviews key projects in Kaushambi; Hears public grievances at Gram Chaupal

Kaushambi: Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj, Saumya Agarwal, on Saturday conducted a detailed inspection of major government projects in Kaushambi and reviewed the progress of ongoing construction works.

Later, she held a Gram Chaupal in Saidanpur village, where she interacted with residents, heard their grievances, and reviewed the implementation of various welfare schemes.

Commissioner Pulls Up Officials

The Divisional Commissioner first inspected the Kalyan Mandapam under construction on Dhata Road under Manjhanpur Municipal Council limits and reviewed the progress of the project.

During the inspection, she sought detailed updates from the CNDS Project Manager and expressed displeasure over the slow pace of work.

Directing officials to accelerate construction, Agarwal instructed that additional labor be deployed to ensure timely completion while maintaining quality standards.

She also ordered the immediate completion of the boundary wall, land-leveling work and plantation activities within the project premises.

Later, Agarwal inspected the Transit Hostel/Accommodation facility under construction at the Police Lines.

Dissatisfied with the pace of progress, she directed the UPPCL Project Manager to increase manpower and speed up construction without compromising quality.

District Magistrate Dr Amit Pal, Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan, Chief Development Officer Vinod Ram Tripathi, and other senior officials accompanied her during the inspection.

Following the inspections, the Divisional Commissioner reached Saidanpur village in Manjhanpur Development Block, where she chaired a Gram Chaupal to hear public grievances and review the delivery of government welfare schemes.

She interacted with villagers regarding benefits received under various schemes, including nutritional support programs, pensions, toilets, ration distribution, Kanya Sumangala Yojana, housing schemes and healthcare services. Officials were instructed to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out.

Focus on Grievance

Agarwal reviewed complaints registered through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) and directed the SDM, Manjhanpur, to ensure timely and quality disposal of all pending cases. She also instructed officials to expedite pending land succession (varasat) matters.

When villagers raised the issue of the need for an electricity pole in the area, the Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department to conduct a survey and arrange installation at the earliest.

Encouragement for Women and Farmers

The Commissioner reviewed the work being carried out by women associated with local Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and encouraged them to take greater advantage of government schemes to strengthen their livelihoods.

Cards Distributed

As part of the outreach programme, Agarwal distributed nutritious food to pregnant women and performed the Annaprashan ceremony for young children. She also handed over keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Chief Minister Awas Yojana, besides distributing Ayushman Bharat health cards.

Officials Review Welfare Schemes

During the programme, villagers informed officials that healthcare services at nearby government health centers were functioning satisfactorily.

District Magistrate Amit Pal asked about the healthcare facilities available at the nearby Community Health Center (CHC)/Primary Health Center (PHC).

Villagers said they were getting proper medical treatment and medicines on time and were satisfied with the services.

The District Magistrate directed officials to continue providing quality healthcare and ensure that people do not face any inconvenience in receiving medical assistance.

Chief Development Officer Vinod Ram Tripathi said that 93 families have been identified under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and eligible beneficiaries will soon receive housing benefits. He also assured villagers of adequate fertilizer availability in the district and urged farmers to complete their Farmer Registry registration.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Sanjay Kumar and other departmental officials briefed villagers about various government schemes and encouraged them to avail themselves of the available benefits.
