Big decision of Bihar government! Land transfer rules changed, new system implemented

Patna. Bihar government has taken an important step for land management and speedy completion of government schemes. Now the process of providing land to government departments as per requirement will be easier than before. The government has decided to give more responsibility to officials by making changes in the rights related to land transfer.

The main objective of this change is to reduce delays in development plans and to simplify the process of providing land. After the implementation of the new system, the time taken to get approval for small projects may be reduced.

Now DM will be able to decide on more land

Earlier, the powers of the District Magistrate to transfer government land were limited. Decisions could be taken at the district level only for small amounts of land, whereas in cases involving larger amounts of land, approval from higher officials was required. In the new system, District Magistrates have been given more powers than before. Now they will be able to complete the process of transferring government land up to 10 acres for the use of any government department.

Different rules for big projects

If the requirement of land for any government scheme or project is more than 10 acres, then in such cases the decision will be taken at the commissioner level. At the same time, very big projects that require more than 20 acres of land will require high level approval from the government.

Development works will accelerate

This decision of the government can have a direct impact on development plans. Many times roads, education, health and other government projects are affected due to delay in getting land. The new system will speed up the process of providing land, which will help in completing the schemes on time.

Strictness regarding digital records also

To increase transparency in land related records, the government has given priority to digital documents. Now arrangements are being made to recognize only digitally certified records in land related works. This can help in reducing incorrect documents, discrepancies in records and land disputes.
