Ceasefire hanging in the balance! America in peace talks with Iran amid the Hormuz-Israel crisis
Will peace ever return between Iran and America? The situation in the Middle East is becoming increasingly dramatic. Once it is heard, there has been a ceasefire violation by the US. Again, Iran is closing the Strait of Hormuz. US Vice President JD Vance left for Switzerland to finalize the peace agreement in Ehen Damadol. The meeting was scheduled to take place last Friday but was canceled by Donald Trump’s deputy.
It is known that the delegation of Iran has already reached Switzerland. The US Vice President and delegation will arrive there on Sunday. The MoU was signed on 14 conditions aimed at Iran-US peace. Among them, the war must stop in the rest of the Middle East, including Iran and Lebanon. Israel and America will guarantee that there will be no new war. Despite this, Israeli forces are attacking Lebanon. After agreeing to a cease-fire on Friday, the attack continued on Saturday.
That’s why Vance canceled the peace talks with Iran on Friday. Then, in 24 hours, the complications between Tehran and Washington increased. Within a day of the peace agreement, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz again. According to them, Israel is continuously attacking southern Lebanon in violation of the ceasefire. On the other hand, America is also breaking trust. That is why Iran is increasing the pressure by closing Hormuz again. Although reported by the US, ships are operating normally in Hormuz.
This situation raises the question, will the peace meeting be beneficial? Even after the signing of the MoU, there is no sign of an end to the conflict in the Middle East. Can Iran and America agree to return peace within 60 days? It has been clearly stated by Tehran that America-Israel has a precedent of not complying with conditions. Let it not happen this time, it will be ensured through discussion. The meeting is expected to last for at least two days. Will peace return?
