IND vs AFG: Third ODI between India and Afghanistan today, how will the Chennai pitch play?

The third and last match of the 3-match series between India and Afghanistan is to be played today (June 20) at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai. Team India has already won the series. Now his eyes will be on cleaning. India had defeated the Afghan team by 7 wickets in the first ODI match played in Dharamshala. After this, they registered a big win by 170 runs in Lucknow and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

 

Nitish Kumar Reddy did not play in Lucknow ODI due to injury. He was seen bowling in the nets in Chennai. He may be included in the playing XI. Yashasvi Jaiswal is likely to get another chance. Left-handed opening batsman Yashasvi could score only 4 runs in 9 balls in the last match. Indian team’s assistant coach Ryan ten Deschate has indicated that a new combination may be tried in the last ODI.

Afghans eye to avoid clean sweep

The team captained by Hashmatullah Shahidi had competed in the first ODI but looked helpless in the second match. The Afghan team will have to play its top cricket to avoid white-washing. Mohammad Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai did not play in the last match. Nabi was ill, while Omarzai was unavailable for selection due to injury. If both these all-rounders remain fit, they will have direct entry into the playing XI.

Know the nature of Chepauk pitch

The match between India and Afghanistan will be played on pitch number 4 of Chepauk. This pitch is made of red soil, on which the ball generally bounces a lot. In such a situation, the Indian team can once again field with three fast bowlers. Talking about the weather of Chennai, it rained here two days ago. However, there is no possibility of rain today.
