No country can become a big power without maritime power: PM Modi
PM Modi Kolkata Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday performed yoga with thousands of people on Kolkata’s famous Red Road. This program took place at a place where on one side was the Eastern Command of the Indian Army and on the other side was the field. After this, Prime Minister Modi attended the simultaneous commissioning ceremony of INS Dunagiri, INS Modhikari and INS Agray and addressed the program.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inducted indigenously built stealth frigate ‘Doongiri’, survey vessel ‘Samshodh’ and anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft ‘Agray’ into the Navy. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of INS Dunagiri, INS Modhikari and INS Agray, the Prime Minister said, “Today the whole world is celebrating International Yoga Day. I am happy that on this occasion I got the opportunity to visit this great land of Bengal. This is the same land which gave a new direction to India’s thoughts, gave impetus to India’s renaissance and kept India connected to the world through sea routes for centuries.” He said, “The world is witness to the fact that no country can become a great power without maritime capability. The sea is related to development, security and prosperity. Today most of the world’s trade takes place through sea routes.”
