Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir arrive in Zurich, Switzerland on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The technical level talks began at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland. This entire meeting has been called after the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ (MoU), which was digitally signed this week. Pakistan and Qatar are playing the role of main mediators in this entire process, while Switzerland is providing space as a neutral country.

Initially this meeting was to be held on June 19, but it had to be postponed due to increasing tension between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Now, on the first day of this meeting, an emergency session has been organized on the Israel-Hezbollah conflict, on which the representatives of America and Iran will talk first.
