1. Boil test
Boil a piece of paneer in water for 5-10 minutes.

The real cheese will remain hard but soft, and there will be no major change in its shape.
The imitation cheese will either become rubbery or partially dissolve, causing the water to become cloudy.

2. Iodine test (for starch)
Mash the cheese and add 2-3 drops of iodine solution to it.
Adulteration can be identified by change in color (turning blue or black).

3. Finger rubbing test
Rub a piece of cheese between your fingers.
Real cheese feels a bit grainy or soft.
