Even rain could not stop the enthusiasm for yoga in Japan, 2100 people gathered!

On the occasion of 12th International Yoga Day 2026, Yogatsav was celebrated with enthusiasm, energy and community participation across the world. This year’s theme was “Yoga for Healthy Aging”, in which people of all age groups were inspired to adopt a healthy, balanced and active lifestyle. People were seen engaged in yoga practice from the eastern end of the world to the western end.

The Consulate General of India in Dubai, the capital of UAE, in collaboration with the police, organized a special yoga session at the Dubai Police Officers Club. Major General Mohammed Issa Al Adhab had a dignified presence in the program. Dubai Police personnel, yoga practitioners, students and community members participated in large numbers. A special performance by Dubai Police Band made the event even more attractive.

Similarly, the event held at the prestigious ‘Hlavne Namestiye’ in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, saw enthusiastic participation from the local community. On this occasion, India’s Ambassador to the Slovak Republic, Apoorva Srivastava, in her address, inspired the participants to make yoga a part of their daily routine and also inspire their families and friends to adopt it.

More than 2,100 yoga lovers participated in the yoga program held at Tsukiji Hongan-ji Temple in Japan. Despite the rain, the participants practiced yoga with the enthusiastic message of “Yoga Saath-Saath, Rain or Shine”. An atmosphere of positive energy, enthusiasm and smiles was seen throughout the venue.

More than 210 Indian missions organized yoga programs at around 2,500 locations across the world on the occasion of International Yoga Day. The main event of this global festival was held on the iconic Red Road of Kolkata, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that today is a historic day, because the whole world seems to be tied together through yoga. He said, “Yoga has worked to connect the entire humanity by going beyond borders, languages ​​and cultures. The energy of Yoga is visible from the Himalayas to the Indian Ocean.”
