Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also took information about the situation at the spot. He told that the age of the deceased is said to be between 20 to 24 years. Expressing grief over the accident, the Prime Minister’s Office has also announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured.

Brajesh Pathak Told that a total of thirteen children have been taken out. All of them have been sent to the hospital. This is a big incident. There is smoke inside. Everything is being removed and checked. Every room is being searched.

Fire broke out in animation centre: Deputy CM

Deputy CM said that there was a lot of wooden furniture inside. Nothing can be seen clearly due to the smoke coming out of that furniture. Fire brigade people are inside. NDRF teams are present on the spot. The fire started suddenly. He told that it was an animation centre. Children used to come here to learn animation, i.e. making cartoons. I have yet to find any information on how the incident actually began.

Where were the injured admitted?

Brajesh Pathak told that the injured are being sent to KGMC Trauma Center. His age was around 16-17 years… A high-level inquiry has been ordered into the incident. Principal Secretary (Home) and DGP have been called to the spot and directed to investigate the cause and ensure strict action to prevent such incidents in future. I saw 14 dead bodies with my own eyes…”

What did the police and administration tell?

  • According to Lucknow Police and Administration, relief and rescue work has been completed.
  • At present, the cause of the fire and possible negligence in security arrangements are being investigated.
  • It is being told that the fire spread so fast that within no time the entire building was surrounded by smoke and flames.
  • Initially it was being reported as an incident related to a coaching center or library, but the police clarified that no such institution was running in the building. Here a pet shop operated on the ground floor and a gaming zone operated on the upper floor.
  • At the time of the incident, people present in the gaming zone started running here and there to save their lives. Some people were seen taking support from the balconies and other parts of the building to escape the fire.
  • One person jumped from the building to save his life and was admitted to the hospital.
  • As soon as the information was received, teams of fire department, police and administration reached the spot. The fire personnel brought the fire under control after hours of hard work and now a cooling operation is being carried out in view of the possibility of the fire breaking out again.

Taking cognizance of the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the officials to immediately reach the spot and speed up the relief work. He talked about providing better treatment to the injured and taking action against the culprits after thoroughly investigating the incident.
