Initially, the incident was said to be related to a coaching center and library, but later senior police officials clarified that no coaching center or library was functioning in the building. According to officials, the ground floor housed a pet store, while the top floor housed a gaming zone, where employees worked on gaming software. The fire caused panic among the people on the upper floors. There were unconfirmed reports that some people were trapped in the bathroom, but later all were safely evacuated during rescue operations.

On getting information about the incident, fire brigade and police teams rushed to the spot and local residents also helped in the rescue operation. The intensity of the fire was such that many people were seen escaping using balconies and other parts of the building. A person jumped from the building to save his life and was admitted to the hospital.

Firefighters have brought the fire under control after tireless efforts. A cooling operation is currently underway to prevent the fire from re-igniting. On getting information about the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the incident and directed the officials to immediately reach the spot and speed up relief and rescue operations. He directed the administration to be alert and give proper treatment to the injured. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also visited the spot and reviewed the rescue work. Initially there were reports of 4-5 people trapped, but later all were evacuated safely.

The Chief Minister has directed all officials including the Director General of Police and senior officials of the Home Department to visit the spot and submit a detailed report. He also hinted that strict action will be taken to identify the culprits and expressed condolences to the families of the victims. The Lucknow police and administration have clarified that the situation is under control and relief and rescue operations have been completed in the entire area. The administration is constantly monitoring the situation and investigation into the matter is underway.
