Children jumped down from the building of death screaming! Those soul-stirring stories of Lucknow fire, which will make your heart cry after listening to them.
Lucknow Aliganj Fire Accident: Today, Monday (22 June) in Aliganj, Lucknow, the lives of hundreds of smiling families changed forever. The boundary wall and the building within which students used to come to cherish the dreams of their bright future, the same building became a dreadful trap of death within a few minutes. So far 15 people have died in this horrific and painful fire, most of whom are said to be innocent students. According to eyewitnesses, coaching classes and library were going on on the first floor of the building when the fire suddenly broke out. Within no time, poisonous and black smoke spread throughout the building. The students trapped inside were putting their hands out of the windows and pleading for help. The people standing below at that time would probably never be able to forget the scene they saw in their entire lives.
Lives of five innocent people saved with the help of hanging electric wire
Om Prakash Verma, who saw this horrific accident with his own eyes, was passing through the same route in his car at that time. Recalling that scene in a trembling voice, he said that I saw that terrible smoke was coming out of the building and the children were looking out of the window. We immediately stopped our car and without wasting any time started trying to get them out safely. A strong electric cable was hanging in front of the building. We showed wisdom and somehow pulled five children out safely with the help of the same hanging wire.
Om Prakash Verma’s voice still trembles while narrating that scene. He further told that as soon as I saw it, four boys and a girl came out with the help of that wire. One of the boys somehow reached the ground, scorched by the flames. But the most sad thing was that there were still many innocent children trapped inside, for whom no way could be found to save.
Jumped from second floor to save life, someone hid in bathroom
The fire spread so quickly and aggressively that many students were left with no way out or escape. Some students jumped straight from the second floor to the ground below in a last ditch effort to save their lives. Some children locked themselves inside the bathroom, perhaps in the hope that the water and the closed door would prevent smoke and flames from reaching there. But alas, luck did not favor everyone.
Another eyewitness Aman said that when we reached the spot, the entire building was surrounded by smoke. We called the police and fire brigade continuously. We also took out one girl and five boys with the help of hanging wires. But in the meantime, due to fear of fire, a young man jumped down from above, due to which his spinal cord was broken and he suffered serious injuries in both his legs.
When the rescue team had to break the wall to remove the dead bodies
The intensity of the fire was so severe that the fire brigade and rescue teams had to break the strong concrete wall at the back of the building with hammers to enter inside. Many bodies were taken out from the debris through the same path. To save the lives of the children, the walls of the houses behind were also demolished to make way for them. The entire Aliganj area was immersed in a wave of mourning amidst black smoke spreading all around, painful screams of children and chaos.
By evening, a huge crowd of crying family members had gathered outside the hospitals. Someone was crying and calling his son’s name, while someone was wandering around in despair in search of his beloved daughter. During this time, many mobile phones kept ringing continuously, but now there was no one left in this world to answer those calls. This is a very painful story of 15 unfulfilled dreams, who came to Lucknow with the hope of job, career and a better future. But instead of returning home, only their dead bodies reached their parents. This heart-wrenching tragedy of Lucknow will remain floating like smoke in the minds of people for a long time.
