Fishermen will get up to 60 percent grant in Uttar Pradesh, this is the last date for application

The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is continuously taking steps keeping every section in mind. Efforts are also being made to benefit every section of the society through schemes. Be it women or youth or farmers. In this context, the Yogi government has taken forward the Nishadraj Boat Subsidy Scheme to strengthen the economic condition of the fishermen community and make them self-reliant. Under this scheme, up to 60 percent subsidy will be given to eligible beneficiaries on the purchase of a new boat.

What is the purpose of government?

The objective of the government is to increase the income of families traditionally associated with fishing and boating and to strengthen their means of employment. The application process for this scheme is going on in many districts of the state including Firozabad. Interested beneficiaries will have to apply within the stipulated time limit, so that they can avail the benefits of government assistance.

Who will get the benefit of the scheme?

This scheme has been made mainly for Nishad, Kevat, Mallah, Bind, Dhimar, Kashyap, Manjhi, Turha, Raikwar, Kahar and other sub-castes of the fishermen community. The government aims to provide assistance to those families whose livelihood is directly dependent on water resources and fisheries.

Under the scheme, priority is given to lease holders of Gram Sabha ponds or reservoirs, so that they can expand their business with modern resources.

How much subsidy will you get?

Under Nishadraj Boat Subsidy Scheme, different grants have been earmarked for different categories on purchase of boats. Subsidy up to 60 percent of the cost of the boat is provided to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe and women beneficiaries, while up to 40 percent assistance is provided to eligible beneficiaries of General and Other Backward Classes.

The government believes that this will provide financial help to fishermen to buy new boats and they will be able to work in a more safe and effective manner.

Documents required for application

To avail the benefits of the scheme, applicants will have to submit some necessary documents. These include Aadhar card, copy of bank passbook, passport size photo, caste certificate, residence certificate and documents related to related business. In many cases, documents related to registration or lease related to the Fisheries Department may also be asked. While applying online, it will be mandatory to upload scanned copies of all documents.

What is the intention of the government?

The state government says that this scheme is not limited to buying boats only, but its objective is to increase the income of the fishermen community and empower them economically. Through the scheme, efforts are being made to connect traditional business with modern facilities. This will increase fish production and also strengthen the rural economy.

Opportunity to apply till June 28

The government has appealed to the eligible beneficiaries to apply in time. The last date for application has been fixed as June 28. In such a situation, those who want to take advantage of this scheme should complete the application process as soon as possible. Thousands of fisherman families are likely to get new hope and financial support through the scheme.
